Selling your home this spring? Here are some tips.

Spring is a great time to sell your home here in the Allegany/Mineral County area. There are many buyers so, if you’re priced correctly, your home can sell very quickly.

Here are some tips on helping your home sell FAST.

1. De-clutter. When a buyer is looking at your home, they’re trying to picture themselves there. Take away knick-knacks and photo frames. It will help the buyer imagine their life there while also making your home look a lot cleaner.
2. Maintain the driveway. How do you get to your house? Don’t let the buyer’s first impression be bad. Add gravel, fill in potholes, etc.
3. Clean up the yard. Rake the old leaves from last fall, re-stain the deck and plant some springtime flowers. This includes cleaning your gutters! Filled gutters can cause havoc on a home.
4. Do minor interior projects that you haven’t gotten around to in awhile. I’m not talking remodeling the kitchen and bathroom. Simply take care of some of the deferred interior maintenance. Maybe re-paint certain areas, scrub the carpets, etc.
5. Have a tiny room that you’re trying to make look larger? Take out some furniture while leaving enough that the buyer understands the purpose of the room.
6. Clean out your closets! Yes, buyers do want to see closets. They aren’t being nosey, they’re just trying to see the space. Closet and storage space is something all buyers would like to have.
7. Consider having a home inspection done before listing. That way you have no surprises. You can either fix items highlighted in the inspection or price accordingly.
