Q: What services do you provide to those who are preparing to put their home on the market? A: We offer everything a seller would need to prep their home prior to listing their home with their agent. Those services include: deep cleaning, organizing, home staging consultations, occupied home staging, and vacant home staging.

Q: What is home staging?A: Home staging refers to the preparation of a home for sale prior to being listed on the real estate market. The goal of home staging is to appeal to the majority of potential home buyers resulting in a quick sale for the highest value. Home staging highlights the beauty and unique traits of your home to make your home stand out to buyers. This is done by making small improvements to the interior and exterior of your home such as arranging furniture, redecorating a space, decluttering, and deep cleaning. Your home stager may also suggest painting and making small updates to modernize the home.

Q: What is the difference between staging an occupied home and staging a vacant home?A: An occupied home is a home that will be occupied during the time photography is taken of the home to be listed on the market, during any time a potential buyer tours the home, and/or for the duration of the sale. When staging an occupied home, the process will involve decluttering, organizing, cleaning and staging. This also involves arranging furniture and decor already in the home, and bringing in other accents as needed. In the end, you want the potential buyers to be able to imagine themselves in the home.

A vacant home is a home that will remain vacant during the time photography is taken of the home to be listed on the market and for the duration of the sale. A vacant home is devoid of furniture, home decor, etc. Staging a vacant home consists of cleaning and staging. When staging a vacant home, your home stager will bring furniture and decor into the home to make it an inviting and cozy atmosphere. As with occupied staging, the end result is allowing the potential buyers to be able to imagine themselves living in the home.

Q: Is home staging affordable?
A: YES! Home staging needs are different for every home. We have the ability to work within each clients budget. Keep in mind that what you pay in home staging will reflect on the value of your home. I pride myself in making home staging available to everyone, so reach out to me!

Q: Do you have any general home staging tips you can pass along to someone listing their home on the market?A:

  1. One thing I cannot stress enough is that $100 in paint can save you THOUSANDS of dollars on the sale of your home. Don’t believe me? Ask your realtor!
  2. Clean, clean, clean. When a potential buyer walks into your home, they are looking for every imperfection. Don’t let dirty window sills or dirty carpets be the reason your home sells for $5,000 less than listing price.
  3. Replace burnt out light bulbs inside and outside of your home. This one is so easy to overlook but it’s important to show that you are consistent on the maintenance of your home. Also, bad lighting can cause your home to look dark and dingy.
  4. As a rule of thumb, if it doesn’t work, get rid of it! If the exterior flood lights don’t work on the outside of the home, fix them if possible, and if not, get rid of it.
